The day was brilliant. We didn’t have the best of weather with a thick cloud cover and misty drizzle (so no views from the top) but the walk, talk and company were great. Parts of the walk/climb were a challenge as I’m not good with heights so climbing the rocky bit with the slippy rocks was nerve racking but the sense of achievement at top of the section was immense.
I really enjoyed being in this outdoor environment and felt totally confident throughout the day with your leadership. You kept us going at a steady pace which was comfortable for the whole group and your reassurance and advice along the route I felt helped all of us successfully achieve this first climb( My first mountain).
As Martin stated ’I went up a hill and came down a mountain’. Non of us realised at the start that mountains were officially any height over 600m and this Pen Y Ghent was 694m, so I was even more pleased to have achieved this first climb. I am now looking forward to the challenge of climbing Snowdon with you at the end of October.
