We recently led a group from Exaireo Trust on an adventure in the Yorkshire Dales. One of the group members, Tim, scribbled an account of the day:
On the 12th of May, a group from Exaireo Trust on a walk in the Yorkshire Dales. The Group joined up with John and Zoe to walk up Pen-y-Ghent. The weather was beautiful and the day was filled with great team spirit. We all had a fantastic time, lots of laughs and amazing scenery. During the day we took part in something called ‘Carry the rock’. Each member of the group was asked to pick up a small stone. As we walked and during the discussion, we identified one thing that stopped us being the best we could be.The stone represented this one thing. We left the stone at the top -symbolically leaving behind that one thing. This could be anything but for me, it was resentment for all sorts of reasons. We all very much enjoyed ourselves and I would recommend this to anyone who likes the outdoors. I would like to thank all involved and I look forward to our next trip – Snowdon!
